Gaahhh… I’m sick of the look of this place lol.
No actually I love the way it looks, I just don’t like the triple column thing. So, I’m trying to find an awesomely awesome TWO Column Wordpress theme. So look out for a facelift coming up soon…
I think the three columns makes it a bit more messy looking and harder to navigate too. I think it looks a lot cleaner with just 2 columns… thing is that I want a WIDE sidebar, not one of those teeny little sidebars, I’m talking the kind of thing that John Chow’s got on his John Chow dot Com blog, I like the look of his blog…
Eventually I’m probably gonna get a custom theme, branding yourself gets you far in the blogosphere, Shawn Collins does fine with his blog though, haha.
Well, does anyone have any suggestions for awesome 2 column, wide sidebar themes? I know I ain’t got a ton of readers, but if you’ve got something to say please don’t be afraid to leave a comment!
I’ll see ya, hopefully with a new look next time.

I wrote a short post on DigitalPoint about how I get my 50% CTRs on the articles I write, and I shall use my wondrous copy & paste skills right on the blog…
(the thread was previously talking about what a “quality” article is, so I put up MY definition of it, from the perspective of a bum marketer)
When I say quality I don’t mean providing useful content…
Lol.
My tips would be to keep ‘em short, most of mine are closer to 250 words than 300, though some are over 400 but don’t perform nearly as well.
First I do KW research and find long tails with at least 10-20 searches a day. You can usually mutliply that number by 4-5 and it’s more accurate in my experience.
Write an article with the KW as, or in the title.
Scatter the KW out in the article.
Make it short, and then comes the almighty resource box.
I like to make it blend in with the article, so it’s not like “Hey in this article I’m gonna tell you how to …. do this, do that… BOOM, Buy this product and you’ll be infinitely awesome!”…
Just try to keep it smooth…
I like to keep that short too, and make it something like “You can get a free report on XYZ and read my complete review of ABC (”abc” is hyperlinked anchor text) on my website. To check it out just click this link www.URL.com (hyperlinked)”.
Boom, there’s your 40%+ CTR. I’ve gotten over 50% too.
The actual content in the article is most often pretty useless lol. I usually spin it off one fact I found on the first result in google. Doesn’t matter what you say really. Just make it a bitching long introduction to the article, tell the fact, boom, resource box.
Hope you liked it!

Seriously, have you seen this guy? Michael Jones is launching product after product after product, and when one is over it’s like he’s in pre-launch the next day. Unless he’s outsourcing 90% of the workload he must be exhausted… I’d guess that’s what he does though.
The latest launch, I just got the email about it, is called The Total Traffic, and the first pre-launch video is about “Banner Ads on Steroids” and apparently banner advertising isn’t dead.
I first heard of him when he launched Torrential Traffic Tactics, which sounded cool and I got on his list then, though I never bought it.
Then came his toolbar, The EverProfits Toolbar, and then the Ebay Code, and then something else and now The Total Traffic. I probably missed something.
Well, this guy must be working his butt off anyway. The Total Traffic is currently in pre-launch, so feel free to check out the first video, it’s got some good stuff.

Yeah, it’s kind of funny. I have two things right now where the clock is ticking down, in a good way, for two different things, both aimed at building my list… yes, the “Definition Of A Bum” list, you can join it on the right here.
One of those two things is The IM Gifts, the giveaway event I mentioned a couple of posts ago. It’s my first participation in a giveaway event, so I really hope the $17 will pay off.
On the site he mentioned a person who was in on the last giveawaym and he got an extra 4000 subscribers overnight, so that’s pretty cool. I do expect my list to go past 1000, but what do I know? Maybe more, maybe less. If I only get 100 that’s fine too.
I’m not going to tell you what the other thing is… I’ve heard that it can be really really powerful though, and there are very few marketers knowing about this, and I’m not in the mood for giving this source away ;P
It’s pretty exciting knowing that your list could grow that much in such a short timeframe…
Well, Friday is not too far away now, that’s when the even launches. You can sign up as a contibutor here: Click.
Or you can be in on the list that announces when the event goes off and be the first person to get there… remember, a lot of gifts will be taken down on Day 2-7 so you might wanna be there first. You can sign up here: Click.
I’ll see ya,
