The Crucial Flaw in Bum Marketing

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Bum Marketing… insanely popular… yet there is one thing… a flaw in the system that pretty much makes it all worthless.

Bum Marketing – the name derives from the idea that you could take a complete bum off the streets, put him in a public library, and have him make money. Right?

Right. And therein lies the problem.

The freaking companies wouldn’t have any place to send the checks to! He’s a bum! He doesn’t have a home!!

OK, fine, it would work if he has a bank account and does the direct deposit thing, or he’s in a paypal affiliate program/network such as myHelpHub – but still.

Just thought that was kind of funny, lol sorry.

The ACTUAL flaw in standard bum marketing is that you don’t have much control.

Unless you have your landing page on your own domain you don’t have any control over it and you can’t make the layout look EXACTLY like you want it on something like blogger or squidoo.

Eventually you want to get more serious with your own domains and stuff like that anyway, so why not start immediately and make more money in the long run.

I’m pretty much leaving traditional bum marketing as it is now, and moving on to something else that is a lot more powerful and completely hands off once it’s done. It’s a niche domination type of thing…

See ya,

Linus

Stepping up from Bum hood…

Yes, that’s right. I’m no longer a Bum Marketer.

Yes, I still do Bum MarketING, but I just did something, which is like the opposite of Bum Marketing.

It’s paid.

It’s Pay Per Click.

Yas. That’s right.

My first ever PPC campaign is now live.

It’s basically just a simple test campaign, and it’s direct linking to somewhere.

If this is a success, I’ll post some step by step guide on here or make a free downloadable report.

Karma baby! … as Norb likes to say.

Landing Pages part 2

This is a follow up post to the last one about Landing Pages. Read that first pl0x.

Anyway, I’m guessing you want to know about the second type of landing pages now…

It’s for people searching for product names and all things related to it. BOOM NEWSFLASH! Right?

Probably not, but it’s often overlooked, and that is VERY stupid if I say so myself.

Why? Because people searching for product names are already considering a purchase!

Therefore it’s some of the most targeted traffic you can recieve. Okay it’s not as MUCH traffic as you get by targeting common keywords, but they’re generally a lot more targeted and ready to buy.

Keywords you’d target would be things like:

  • “Product Name”
  • “Product Name Review”
  • “Product Name Scam”
  • “ProductName”
  • “ProductName Review”
  • “www.productnamewebsite.com” (that’s a good one ;)

…and so on.

The type of landing page you would use for these people – requires practically no thinking!

You just write a brief UNBIASED OVERVIEW of what the product is about, and include the product box or whatever is available. Just a paragraph or two of what the product is about, as an OVERVIEW, and not a “review”. You can’t have an opinion at all. You’re gonna have to sound like a boring dude working for the government – like a “professional”.

Get it?

Then under that you have something like “actual consumer feedback”, which is a fancy phrase for testimonials.

And then have your links on the top and bottom and after the descriptive paragraph stuff.

And that’s it.

Enjoy…

This is something I’ve talked about several times on the Digital Point forums, but I think it’s VERY important for the bum affiliate to know.

The idea is that you should have different kinds of landing pages for different kinds of traffic.

For example, someone searches “How to get rid of smelly feet” in Google, and let’s pray they’re not looking for an axe…

That’s a specific kind of traffic, and it is to be treated in a specific way. How? …read on.

The way your landing page could be structured in this scenario, well two different formats would work and it’s up to you which you choose.

The first one is the “Product review” landing page. This works VERY WELL (think 5% conversion rate) with people looking to SOLVE A PROBLEM, hopefully a painful one, lol.

The best way to do this is to relate to them and bind an emotional connection with them. Tell them how you were in their situation once, you know what they feel like… you didn’t want to buy it either at first because you’re sick of all the scams… and then gradually lead them into happy emotions, and tell them how you finally got too desperate and bought it, and to your surprise it actually worked… and blah, blah and blah.

You might think this is unethical if it’s not true, but if the product does work (and you’d rather want this confirmed…)  you’re not doing anyone any harm. In fact you’re ACTUALLY HELPING them! Even if what you say isn’t true.

It’s up to you and your ethics, but the next type won’t be so hard on those :)

To find out how you can make high converting landing pages to the most targeted traffic – the best traffic – stick around for tomorrow!

… yeah I’m sneaky like that. Feel free to subscribe to the RSS feed on the top right, and leave a comment, of course… I like those :D

Check back here, or in your feed reader, tomorrow to find out what the best traffic is and how to monetize them!
