I don’t know, I found this somewhat amusing. As this is a blog about affiliate marketing, I figured my readers would need to know this.

READ THIS

Yep, the FTC is trying to kill 90% of affiiate marketers’ businesses.

Basically, if you endorse something without telling whoever is reading it that you might get paid or whatever, the FTC will drop the hammer. Or whatever it is they do.

“Online, if you think that somebody is providing you with independent advice and … they have an economic motive for what they’re saying, that’s information a consumer should know.”

What a bunch of crap.

In my opinion, it’s still the ‘consumer’s choice to pull out their freaking credit card in the first place.

It’s not like we force people to do anything, we just kind of point them in the right direction.

“BUY THIS NOW THROUGH THIS LINK OR I WILL EAT YOUR CHILDREN!!!11!!1!”

No, it’s not like that.

And oh, I found this amusing:

So parents keeping blogs to update family members on their child’s first steps technically would fall under the FTC guidelines, though they likely would have little to worry about unless they accept payments or free products and write about them.

But they would need to think twice if, for instance, they praise parenting books they’ve just read and include links to buy them at a retailer like Amazon.com Inc.

That’s because the guidelines also would cover the broader and common practice of affiliate marketing, in which bloggers and other sites get a commission when someone clicks on a link that leads to a purchase at a retailer. In such cases, merchants also would be responsible for actions by their sales agents — including a network of bloggers.

Amazon declined to comment.

Bwah.

Whatchu think?

You just might notice it. Just maybe.

Yer, I added a pop-up to the blog. It’s the same as the “Definition Of A Bum” thing in the sidebar.

Honestly, the report isn’t that spectactular. It’s kind of a “back to basics” thing with bum marketing.

I wrote it like 6 months ago when I was still a semi-noob that thought that I knew more about this stuff than I really did, however it does cover some good info that’s definitely worth a look, and it’ll probably help you reshape your definition of what a BUM marketer is, because it’s really not what most people think.

If you’ve read any of my later reports, like the “bummage” report, or its sequel the 4 Prong Affiliate Domination report (like 4 people ever saw this) … then you should know it’s not even in the same league. It’s waaay more simple in this one. Neither one of those are available to the public right now.

I basically just wanted something simple to offer new people, as well as experienced ones I guess. I’m sure you can pick up something from there.

Well, peace out fellas, hope you enjoy.

Okay, I might have said somewhere in the past that I was starting with some CPA stuff.

I changed my mind.

Sure, there’s a heck of a lot of profit there. In fact, the reason I chose to talk about this now is because of the upcoming high ticket product called The Arbitrage Conspiracy. But don’t worry, I won’t promote it to you, or to anyone at all.

See, the guys behind it are pulling in about $50,000-$100,000 Net Profit each and every day.

That’s a whole bunch of cash right there.

But why am I not doing it?

I’m too lazy, that’s why.

MY problem with CPA is that it has to be managed constantly. You have to keep your campaigns in check.

You see, the advertisers that puts out their offers on the CPA networks… they can pull their offer at any time they choose. Like “we don’t need more leads now, let’s pull this campaign…” or because they can’t afford to pay the affiliates.

Also, CPA offers expire as well, if the advertiser hasn’t removed their offer before the expiry period ends.

That’s my problem.

What I do, is things that I can set up once, and not have to touch it ever again.

Things like small SEO sites that pull in free traffic and gets sales or possibly adsense clicks on autopilot. And things like Clickbank offers don’t expire, neither does adsense. Even if a site only brings in a couple of bucks per day, it’s duplicable, like most things. If you have like 20 sites then it starts to add up.

That’s my kind of thing… not having to work. Period. Yeah, I’m a lazy bastard.

However, if you’re cool with working a few hours per day I’m sure CPA is a great way to go. I’m sure the Arbitrage Conspiracy is too. Heck, even MARK JOYNER promotes it. I have enough respect for that man to know that the product must be absolutely fantastic if he chooses to promote it.

So well, now you know what in my opinion are the primary drawbacks of CPA. If I was doing CPA, I would buy the Arbitrage Conspiracy though, and if you want to do that, go right ahead. Unfortunately I don’t have any affiliate link for you…

Well I’ll see you guys. I know I haven’t updated in a while, I just haven’t… felt like blogging. We’ll see if I get back into it, oh well.

See ya,

Bum Marketing… insanely popular… yet there is one thing… a flaw in the system that pretty much makes it all worthless.

Bum Marketing – the name derives from the idea that you could take a complete bum off the streets, put him in a public library, and have him make money. Right?

Right. And therein lies the problem.

The freaking companies wouldn’t have any place to send the checks to! He’s a bum! He doesn’t have a home!!

OK, fine, it would work if he has a bank account and does the direct deposit thing, or he’s in a paypal affiliate program/network such as myHelpHub – but still.

Just thought that was kind of funny, lol sorry.

The ACTUAL flaw in standard bum marketing is that you don’t have much control.

Unless you have your landing page on your own domain you don’t have any control over it and you can’t make the layout look EXACTLY like you want it on something like blogger or squidoo.

Eventually you want to get more serious with your own domains and stuff like that anyway, so why not start immediately and make more money in the long run.

I’m pretty much leaving traditional bum marketing as it is now, and moving on to something else that is a lot more powerful and completely hands off once it’s done. It’s a niche domination type of thing…

See ya,

This is a follow up post to the last one about Landing Pages. Read that first pl0x.

Anyway, I’m guessing you want to know about the second type of landing pages now…

It’s for people searching for product names and all things related to it. BOOM NEWSFLASH! Right?

Probably not, but it’s often overlooked, and that is VERY stupid if I say so myself.

Why? Because people searching for product names are already considering a purchase!

Therefore it’s some of the most targeted traffic you can recieve. Okay it’s not as MUCH traffic as you get by targeting common keywords, but they’re generally a lot more targeted and ready to buy.

Keywords you’d target would be things like:

“Product Name”

“Product Name Review”

“Product Name Scam”

“ProductName”

“ProductName Review”

“www.productnamewebsite.com” (that’s a good one ;)

…and so on.

The type of landing page you would use for these people – requires practically no thinking!

You just write a brief UNBIASED OVERVIEW of what the product is about, and include the product box or whatever is available. Just a paragraph or two of what the product is about, as an OVERVIEW, and not a “review”. You can’t have an opinion at all. You’re gonna have to sound like a boring dude working for the government – like a “professional”.

Get it?

Then under that you have something like “actual consumer feedback”, which is a fancy phrase for testimonials.

And then have your links on the top and bottom and after the descriptive paragraph stuff.

And that’s it.

Enjoy…

This is something I’ve talked about several times on the Digital Point forums, but I think it’s VERY important for the bum affiliate to know.

The idea is that you should have different kinds of landing pages for different kinds of traffic.

For example, someone searches “How to get rid of smelly feet” in Google, and let’s pray they’re not looking for an axe…

That’s a specific kind of traffic, and it is to be treated in a specific way. How? …read on.

The way your landing page could be structured in this scenario, well two different formats would work and it’s up to you which you choose.

The first one is the “Product review” landing page. This works VERY WELL (think 5% conversion rate) with people looking to SOLVE A PROBLEM, hopefully a painful one, lol.

The best way to do this is to relate to them and bind an emotional connection with them. Tell them how you were in their situation once, you know what they feel like… you didn’t want to buy it either at first because you’re sick of all the scams… and then gradually lead them into happy emotions, and tell them how you finally got too desperate and bought it, and to your surprise it actually worked… and blah, blah and blah.

You might think this is unethical if it’s not true, but if the product does work (and you’d rather want this confirmed…) you’re not doing anyone any harm. In fact you’re ACTUALLY HELPING them! Even if what you say isn’t true.

It’s up to you and your ethics, but the next type won’t be so hard on those :)

To find out how you can make high converting landing pages to the most targeted traffic – the best traffic – stick around for tomorrow!

… yeah I’m sneaky like that. Feel free to subscribe to the RSS feed on the top right, and leave a comment, of course… I like those :D

Check back here, or in your feed reader, tomorrow to find out what the best traffic is and how to monetize them!
