LDC TV Episode #1 – Autoresponders and Why I Might Consider You Retarded

in LDC TV, List Building

The first ever episode of LDC TV! Hope you like it… excuse my English if you think it sucks, I’m from Sweden remember? Also this was shot at 3 am in the morning… and I REALLY need to stop doing that with my hands, it looks ridiculous and make my hands look stupidly big.

If you just realized how much money you’re missing out not building a list, and you don’t even have an autoreponder… I recommend AWeber – it’s what I use :)

Anyway, leave a comment, tell me what you think!

Oooh noo not the hair :-o!

Nothing to disagree with ’cause you’re 100% a smartie.

Question about Aweber – don’t you find it takes longer that it should for optin emails to arrive? I use them too but find that really REALLY frustrating.

Great first episode :)

Well done on the vid… I know how it feels to do it. Took me 3 weeks to do a 3 min sales page video on the 7 dollar link trick.

Look forward to your next vid.

Linus you are correct. All successful bloggers I know including the ones making 6 figures are using Aweber. Video blogs are the way to go!

You´re right Linus. The “list building” concept may look too complicated for someone just starting on IM, but could be by far the safest model out there.

Otherwise you´re just sending your traffic down the toilet most of the time.

Good Video Linus.

Your are overly critical on yourself, the video was good.
The more video you shoot, the smoother you will get.
Love Aweber as well.

Good job Linus!….Vlogs definitely take a little more effort, but it helps when people can see you explain something live.

One suggestion to help with the nervous energy….make yourself some notes before recording and use them openly….nobody is going to care if you are using notes…you don’t have to try to memorize what you are going to say.

You can just tell us your ideas (which have been very helpful, btw)…and get it out there quickly….ALL MEAT…NO FLUFF or pauses, etc.

Best,

Scott

You know whats really retared ? Is me joining Tellmen K. list building club and purchasing the ninja autoresponder, then setting it all up on a wordpress blog like Tellmen directed in his video’s and getting NO traffic but one or two people a day when i looked on the stats, but later found out those two people where me. Then after the first month ended the customer service ninja autoresponder people kept asking for a second months payment or they would cancel my subscription. So I told them “CANCEL IT THEN !” and i wanted a refund because i did’nt use the autoresponder disk space and in actually i save them money. They Denied my request, see what the autoresponder people did’nt know is there this little trick i know how to do with credit cards to have full control over everything and 100% legal. So long story short i got my money back. lol … !! Great blog!!…. but you spelled RETARDED wrong it has Two “TT” like this lol ..well i’am off to make another Failing Linkwheel.

Okay… sorry to hear about your experience with Tellman.

Can’t find where I misspelled anything though?

Anyhow… of course you’ll make another failing linkwheel if you say you’re gonna make another failing linkwheel.

You ALWAYS get what you expect out from things. I don’t mean what you HOPE to get, but what you REALLY expect to get out of things on a subconscious level.

You’ll keep failing as long as you expect to fail, so I wouldn’t even bother trying to make a LinkWheel if I thought it would fail – what the fuck would be the point of that right?

So get your head right first and the rest will follow :)

Thanks for the comment though, and glad you like my blog.

Awesome first episode…

No question about it… The money is on the “LIST”.
However, it may take longer to master sequence emails and keep the bounce rate to a minimum. The key here is to keep them interested in what you have to offer by adding value.

Yeah I suppose – but even if you ABSOLUTELY SUCK at it – you’ll still make more money than if you were just pushing an affiliate link directly.

In all cases it’s STILL easier to get someone to enter their email address than pull out their credit card (out of their duct tape wallets? PLEASE someone should start a video blog on how to make duct tape wallets in all shapes and sizes, it would be HUGE!!)

Linus: Your English is remarkable for a kid of 15. Do you speak Korean too? I speak some Korean as I lived there for two years. Tough language! You’re really an amazing kid. How did you put the front text to your video where it says, “LDC TV Episode #1″? I want to do more videos for my Cayenne Pepper site.

BTW, I used to work for a company called Protect Data, now a subsidiary of Check Point Software. They’re headquarted in Stockholm with their developer team in Sundsvall. I loved working with the Swedes.

Thanks Linus,

I would think your try to con me..:) good tip for the future, try practicising in the mirror. At lease a couple of time before you do your presentation on video it works for me still. C.OF.S.. Hi linus,

Its a nice video actually and I don’t have any questions about your idea because it’s correct. I’ve used awerber autoresponder for my opt-in and it works perfectly fine. Right now, I will start implementing linkwheel. I go over your guidelines in implementing linkwheel and since this method is new for me, I still have lots of questions. Hope you can help me so that I can work on perfectly.

Regrading the hair, I really like it. I will be sad if the hair is gone.

Looking forward for the next video.

Thanks for the comment.

Don’t worry about your questions. If you have questions… you’re thinking too much. It’s ALL in there.

If you have a question, what you NEED to do – is to find out for yourself.

That’s the ONLY way. I promise. My answer – will be wrong.

Sorry you like my hair so much lol, but I’ve had like semi-long hair for like 5 years and I’m kinda sick of it.

You have done well in your first video..You have to work a bit on your english, then your confidence, and your hands were fine, they didnt appeared too big. You know the better way is to keep them on your lap with crossed legs, it gives a confident posture and is good to look at. Well whats important that your message is delivered and we got your point. List is important. Goodluck for the next video.. :-)

Wow dude, really? Not to be a cocky asshole or anything, but for being a Swedish 15 year old kid… well I’ll bet you a hundred bucks that you won’t find anyone else my age, in this country, speaking english as well as I do.

Yeah I realize how outrageously cocky that sounds, but if you would ask any other 15 year kid in my school, or that I have ever even met for that matter – to watch that video – they would understand just about jack shit. Much less actually speak the damn language…

But yeah, uh, thanks for the comment.

Your english is great. It’s just that you may have been a little nervous for your first time and it wasn’t well rehearsed (it was 3am, right?!). Good job though.

Some notes that might help.

Write it out on your Mac notepad like this-

Video post #1
- The importance of building a list (then give a quick line or two about why)
- What’s the best company to sue for building a list (line or 2 about Aweber)
- Where they can go to find a little more about why Aweber (direct them to your post)
- Line or two about building auto-responding messages
- Line or two about back-end sales
- Re-iterate how important it is to build a list- NOW, and to take action by viewing previously mentioned post.
- Sayonara

Stay enthusiastic so we can see how you really feel about your trademark word “awesome!” (not like your selling cars, but that works too! GaryV)

And about the camera, when you’re looking/talking to it, imagine that you’re talking to ONE very, very, special person. Someone you care about sooo much (choose a real person to imagine while you’re delivering your message).

Hey, I’m a 2nd graduate of this private method acting school in Los Angeles (currently in Spain), so I thought that I would pass on these notes!

Hope it helps. Great job on your first time!

Hey Linus,

Way to go! Nervousness aside, (and there have been many suggestions on how to work on that), I think for a first video at 3 am, it was pretty well done. What I’m more impressed with is your link-wheel report and the influence you are having on much older and often more experienced marketers.

I just have to comment on the English thing. I’m a native speaker. I’ve actually been teaching English overseas for some 17 years now. I’ve probably taught thousands of people of all ages. While some of them (at your age) have been pretty good…you rock! Impressive. I’d say fluent (albeit nervous). I don’t think that area needs much work at all. Clear. No accent to speak of. The only thing I would suggest is to watch your pacing a bit. When we get nervous we often have bouts of speaking (really) fast. Not a problem for me, but I’m guessing if non-native English speakers were watching, some might have occasionally had trouble following. Personally, I loved it…nice wallet!

A side note to James…(who I sincerely hope has a good sense of humor and can see the irony in this)

“You have done well in your first video..You have to work a bit on your english, then your confidence, and your hands were fine, they didnt appeared too big. You know the better way is to keep them on your lap with crossed legs, it gives a confident posture and is good to look at. Well whats important that your message is delivered and we got your point. List is important. Goodluck for the next video.. :-)”

That should probably have read…

“You have done well in your first video. You have to work a bit on your English, then your confidence. Your hands didn’t appear too big. You know, a better way is to keep them on your lap with crossed legs. It gives a confident posture and looks good. Well, what’s important is that your message is delivered and we got your point. Buiding a list is important. Good luck on the next video.. :-)”

Good luck with your writing. :) Sorry, I just couldn’t resist, under the circumstances. :) Seriously though, you made some helpful suggestions, as I’m sure was your intent.

Yeah, it was his first video and it was a little shaky but look at youtube. His video is pretty damn good compared to the others if you ask me.

Lol. You have got to be kidding me… The commissions I get from Aweber are laughable.

I mean, it’s you loss though, if you choose not to build a list.

As I said… it’s easier to get someone to opt in than to sell them something directly, and it’s easier to sell something once they are on your list. Then you can sell them over and over again…

I mean, the money is OBVIOUSLY in the list…

Hi Linus,
A few comments from a Grizzly-Grey-Grandpa:
When I was your age 50 years ago I was a native English Speaker (Yup – still am!), but my accent was much worse than yours. I would have been so nervous trying to do what you’ve done I would have got a nose bleed (that used to happen whenever I danced with a girl – so I didn’t make out too well!!). It did improve by the time I was 17 – thank goodness eh?!!!
However, we expect more from our youngsters now, and you understand this Web World better than I do – so I listen to you.
I must add though (and I’ve a lot of life experience behind me with 30 years in the British Army and 3 other major employments since) – just remember that whatever your natural speech includes it will probably help you in the long term if you keep your language clean. Leave out the effing and blinding, it isn’t needed to make your point, and you’ll be able to look back on your early work later without cringing at some of the expressions.
I’m convinced you’ll improve quickly at whatever you tackle because it seems very evident that you are a fast learner – and you TAKE ACTION. That’s great, no matter what age you are!
Keep it up, be tolerant of those that don’t or can’t follow your logic quickly, be patient with idiots (it helps your own blood pressure and stress) and keep right on enjoying what you’re doing!!!
Glad I found your Lemonarian Way – I’ll be listening
Yours
