So since the official release of my LinkWheel and the LinkWheel traffic system I’ve gotten a whole lot of questions.
Figured I’d answer them all in one place, and if you have another question that is not answered here – leave a comment below.
So here we go…
Q: What do you mean ‘Web 2.0′ property?
A: Basically what I mean is any website you can post content to that allows you to post a link that DOES NOT have the rel=”nofollow” tag. Google ‘nofollow’ if you don’t know what that is. Networking sites like Facebook or Myspace, and video sites such as Youtube are also part of ‘web 2.0′ however we can’t post content in that way there. Sites like Squidoo and Hubpages, Wordpress MU blogs like wordpress.com, Blogsome and other free blog sites like Blogger for example, that’s the kind of site we are looking for here.
Q: How can you tell if a web 2.0 property is a dofollow?
A: The standard way of doing it is looking in the source code by right clicking on a page, a clicking ‘view source’. There when you look at a link it will look something like <a href=”http://blabla.com”>LINK</a> and if it’s a nofollow link it will have the rel=”nofollow” tag in it, so the link looks like <a rel=”nofollow” href=”http://blabla.com”>… Fortunately there are softwares that can do this for us automatically, what I use is Aaron Wall’s SEO For Firefox which is a plugin for Firefox. By turning it on it does a whole bunch of stuff, one of them being highlighting all nofollow links. You can find it here: CLICK HERE
Q: What is a ’sub-wheel’?
A: This is when you build a LinkWheel around a property in an existing LinkWheel, like this. In this case, as you can see – Squidoo is the focus hub for the subwheel. The properties in the new subwheel can be any of the web 2.0 properties we use, as mentioned in the report (don’t forget about Wordpress MU!).
Q: There’s no way it takes 25 minutes to do one ’set’ of the wheel, since you don’t just drop links on sites like squidoo – you need some content too.
A: Content is all explained within the course, read it.
Q: Any idea how to edit a Quizilla story after posting. I’m working back as recommended but can’t seem to find how to edit it and complete the wheel.
A: Just go to the top menu – My Stuff -> Stuff I Made and select the story, there should be an ‘edit’ link right next to it.
Q: So when you say for quizilla it links to the next one and the main focus site I’m assuming within the story you are using 2 outwards links one to each part of the wheel right? I ask because again I’ve notcied in quizilla that the profile page doesn’t allow for a homepage web link, so I’m assuming the only way you can link your wheel up would be within the story?
A: You do straight html links within the story, one to the focus hub, one to the ‘neighbor’ (or ‘neighbour’ if you’re a brit, lol). You just use the standard <a href="http://yourfocushub.com/whatever">Your Keyword Phrase</a> format.
Q: How do you go about linking them? Anchored text?
A: Right. Each LinkWheel is targeted to one keyword, and it’s that keyword and some keyword variations you would use as anchor text.
Q: Does this work well for a keyword with over 50k but less than 100k?
A: There’s no saying… it depends entirely on the strength of the sites that are currently ranking in Google. If it’s full of authority sites like Wikipedia or About.com then you probably won’t get #1 for it, but remember that there are in fact 10 spots on the front page. However, if the front page has lots of Web 2.0 properties and Universal search features on it – that’s a good sign because if it ranks well, you probably will too.
Q: Is there a particular reason it has to be a perfect wheel? Can you do a “broken wheel” and still rank well?
A: Yeah you CAN do that, but the idea is that because all of the properties are connected (indirectly) – if you point links to one property it indirectly affects all of them, thus raising the entire wheel.
Q: What is so special about the LinkWheel?
A: Read previous question.
Q: Does it have to in a certain direction?
A: Nope.
Q: How long does it take to see results?
A: Depends on a few factors such as keyword competition etc, but you should see results fairly quickly, as soon as you’re indexed.
Q: Can you plase add also how could it be combined with article marketing.
A: Read the LinkWheel Traffic System
Q:You said that you use 1 article for the entire linkwheel, but is the content in the focus hub different from the LinkWheel?
A: YES! You don’t want to link to two places from one property that both contain the same content.
Q: What’s the best way to get your properties indexed in Google?
A: Some people have reported having trouble getting their properties indexed in Google, I wouldn’t worry though. Because of the nature of these Web 2.0 properties they are crawled frequently, and add that to the fact that you’re pinging and bookmarking everything they should be indexed sooner or later.
Q: Wouldn’t Google see this as a link scheme if I close the circle?
A: Well, you’d think so, but I haven’t had that happen for me. Maybe they do, I don’t know. I haven’t gotten penalized or anything like that though.
Q: Would Bookmarking Demon be a good one for this?
A: Yeah it would work. Personally I use SEnuke and that’s because it automates pretty much all parts of the LinkWheel – read my review here. So that’s pretty neat, but any bookmarking tool would work. Even a free option such as Onlywire.
Q: Do I need to bookmark the wheel properties several times? Or is once enough?
A: I would rather spend that time building more wheels and ’sub-wheels’ and bookmarking them. If you have automation tools which can bookmark your stuff from different accounts, but if you don’t I wouldn’t spend that time bookmarking when I can be building more properties.
Q: Can you talk a little about the expected results from doing this? If you create 1 wheel should you expect 10 hits per day, 100 hits per day, etc…? (on average)
A: There’s really no answer, and it depends on so many factors… keyword competition, keyword search volume, title optimization and so on.
Q: What is this ‘Project One Hundred’ that appears at the top of the report?
A: Project One Hundred is a complete course I developed that is designed to get you from $0 to $100 per day within a month. The LinkWheel strategy is a part of it. This is not available to the public.
Those are all the questions I’ve gathered so far, if you have any more, just ask in the comments.
Cheers people,
Linus

Hi Linus,
Got another noooooooooooooob question for yeah :O)~ I am starting my linkwheel. I had a article written for me. So I took that article into mass article control, re-wrote some of it and spun it. I got the article 45% spun. Is 45% good enough so my sites won’t drop like a rock in Google? What is the percentage you want to target with spun articles? Do I have to use different keywords in all my articles? I know that my focus hub need to be a different article but can it have the same keyword? Do I have to have different keywords in all my 6 articles? That’s what I am confused on. My plan is to have articles written for me, then re-write them, spin them, then make my linkwheels with one keyword a wheel. Is that the way to do it? :O)

Hi…
Thanks for sharing such a nice information. I really liked all FAQs. They are quite informative about “LinkWheel”. Nice work. Keep it up.
This is some great stuff I have never heard of SeNuke before but it looks promising and will give it a try – Had some concerns about the LinkWheel but this Q&A Definitely cleared some things up – thanks!

YOU are definitly not JUST the Middleman!
I got a little confused here subwheel example, but figured it out: the link goes from ‘Property 6′ straight top ‘Property 1′ w/o stopover @ ‘Squidoo’.
My question: how about german (and maybe other) language within the content versus keywords? imho most of the article subscription services do accept ONLY plain english written articles- any thought to share abou this?
I wish you’re going to have more success than you can handle now (’cause I know you’ll find a solution ;-))
Appreciate your stuff.

I’ve sort of been doing something like this for awhile, but I don’t think I’ve ever done it quite like this… Also I’ve found that there are a lot more web 2.0 sites than I realized… A lot of them I haven’t used before – so expanding my link profile should be a good thing.
Great information.

Just try to make as much sense to Google as you can. If you have a german site, it would be more relevant with links from other german sites. I’m sure there are several free blog hosts based in germany… Might be the linkwheel isn’t your best alternative either. Look into other things like blog commenting or forum posting.
