in Misc. Updates

Lemonarian Dot Com is officially a DoFollow blog, and I’ve also enabled CommentLuv and KeywordLuv.

Spam comments still won’t make it though, obviously.

Go crazy peoplez.

Yeah I know. You don’t seem to be though, lol.
Deleted your link and approved your comment entirely for my own amusement…

3 Frank from freebees April 19, 2009 at 7:12 pm

Nice to see you add the 2 plugins. They should get your blog alot more traffic since people love keyword and comment luv. I seen people talk about the good and bad points but it seems to have helped some sites do very well with alot more traffic and comments and good page rank.

CommentLuv is a nice feature, although I wish someone would port it to Nucleus CMS.

How are you finding the quality of comments with keywordluv, I find that a lot of the comments tend to be ..”Thanks for the post”…or “good work”…just trying to get a backlink in most cases. It can be a real pain having to moderate them.

6 lemonarian April 30, 2009 at 10:36 pm

but that’s like waaaay obvious most of the time. It’s amusing to see what people comment with sometimes… I manually approve everything anyway so I don’t mind.

7 Chris from Backlinks May 7, 2009 at 4:08 am

One other good plugin is the ‘top commenter’ plugin. It rewards and encourages constant reading of the blog. You give your top commenters/readers a front page backlink.

8 oly from kavel kavels May 8, 2009 at 11:21 am

When u installed this plugin, did u get a lot of spamm comments as well? i can imagine it will increase ur traffic alot! There is also an other plugin called commentluv its quite the same i gues.

9 Felix May 9, 2009 at 12:24 am

There’s a positive & negative effect on using the two reader appreciation plug-ins. Spam will surely increase that’s why when I use Keywordluv, I didn’t turn off the moderation mode. The bright side is it at least increases your traffic a little and promotes discussion and conversation on your blog.

Hey,

Well you have made the right decision. Since i turned my blog do-follow and enabled this plugin I have gotten an infusion of quality comments to my posts, that only added value to them.

Warm wishes,
John

I am dofollow on my blog and also have comment luv but I have not added keyword luv yet. I have been thinking about it though. There seems to be real big advantages to it.

I love this wordpress plugin. But my blog got spammed a lot. I guess its not only the plugin you should put you should also put antispam.

14 lemonarian May 28, 2009 at 11:14 pm

This place got spammed a lot anyway, so I don’t really notice any difference, other than more sincere comments too.

15 Thomas from FastSize Scam May 23, 2009 at 8:23 pm

The idea of this plugin is very nice. Can you plz tell me if there is any similar plugin for drupal blogs?

16 lemonarian May 28, 2009 at 11:15 pm

I have no idea, sorry. Ask in a drupal forum.

17 Vikas from India Property May 28, 2009 at 12:43 pm

The thing I like about comment luv and do follow is that you can give back to those whose visits and comments are raising the profile of your own blog.

Thanks… I added the CommentLuv to one of my blogs also. This would be so much easier if the spammers just stopped spamming. FYI, I found your blog by searching for “CommentLuv” dofollow, you were #3. Bookmarked your site… thanks

In general, the plug-in is great. It both helps the commenter and the poster in different ways.

This WordPress plugin can do wonders for blog traffic, but it also brings with it tons of spammers looking to accumulate links.

I guess the trick is to have an eye out for the spammers who drop two word comments, looking for quick links. I’d love to find out if you’ve received a noticeable spam impact on your posts.

Thanks!

21 Willson from Top 10 games June 9, 2009 at 2:05 pm

Commentluv and keywordluv are the great pluig-in.Win situation for all the commenter and web owner. It allow the commenter to leave the keyword in the name field and give the lot of traffic to web owner.

22 Annie June 10, 2009 at 1:16 pm

Content is content, Google rewards sites with unique content. Thus when many people comment on a post I have made that helps with the site ranking. Of course this is just one but many, many elements that add up to a high ranking website (just like this one).
This plugins will change rel=”nofollow external” into rel=”external”.
Am wondering if “external” is still needed. Might affect Google’s pagerank as well.
Thanks for the Link Love anyways :-)

This is a great plug-in and an excellent idea to reward participants to your site with a backlink to theirs as well as making the comments part of an article look much more professional. Lets hope its use continues.

24 Hellas from Sulumits Retsambew June 22, 2009 at 11:24 pm

Now after runing this plugin for a few months can you say is it worthet? I am thinking to remove URL from my comment form but I am scared that people will completly stop commenting.

25 lemonarian June 23, 2009 at 1:08 am

Well, yeah. Most spam gets caught by akismet and the obvious ones I just delete anyway. ALL comments go into moderation here so it’s no biggie.

Linus

26 Scott from Official Game Guide June 30, 2009 at 8:35 pm

Do you also get those weird russian spam comments? Pharmacy ones and so forth? I get these kind of comments every day, it’s annoying! lol At least wordpress allow you to delete all the spam at once!

27 lemonarian June 30, 2009 at 8:42 pm

Lol, yeah I do. Most of them gets caught by akismet though so I’m not bothered by them.

Most of the spam comments I get are more like “You have a very interesting blog! Thanks you. I will add it to my RSS reader.”

Or just some random word, ie “thanks”

Or someone trying to be helpful “To make money online, use Google Adwords to bid on your keywords” – on a completely unrelated post about… whatever.

I found you #1 in Google for ‘clickbank & intext:”CommentLuv Enabled”‘. Not sure what you have to do with Clickbank, but it was interesting to read through the comments and get an insight into your approval process. And you introduced me to ‘KeywordLuv’ too so thanks!

Dofollow, CommentLuv/KeywordLuv had made a great gate between business and IT. and of course it helps a lot, but lot of blog don’t put moderation. so more chances of spamming indeed.

Found that KeywordLuv, DoFollow and CommentLuv are strong plugins that have helped with getting quality comments and additional traffic to sites.

44 Jenny J August 17, 2009 at 4:34 pm

It is always good to find like minded people, that basically have the same interests. I love the easy plugins and thankfully comment luv was one of the easier ones. Since I am not IT literate I struggle with the pluggins that need a key :(. Never mind I will get better as time goes on. Thanks for all of the positives comments written.

Regards

As a fellow blogger, I really respect
it when other webmasters out there
install plugins like keywordluv.
Building a blog can be so difficult,
and spammers are making it so impossible
to get good site links your personal blog.

I’ve just recently subscribed to your website ,thanks for installing theKeyword Luvplugin!
